Now the fiberglassing is done the next step is fairing, this involves covering the boat in a layer of filler and then sanding it down to get a smooth finish. This process has to be repeated several times to get a good finish as each time you sand down the high spots and then add some more filler to take out the low spots.
I used West Systems 407 low density filler that is recommended for fairing.

I started with the transom first and then moved on to the rest of the hull.

After allowing a couple of days for the filler to set I made a start on the sanding, this done using a flexible longboard, I started with 60 grit sandpaper to take down the high spots first.

Sanding the filler is not a very enjoyable job, it's hard dusty work that takes a lot of time.
