I made a base for the mast out of some bits of Oak I had left over from the Keel joists. It took a long time to get it at the correct angle as I needed to level the boat using the waterline as the reference.
I checked and double checked the position and then mixed up some thickened Epoxy to fix the mast base into position. I also added some fiberglass matting for extra strenght.
My neighbour gave me a lucky coin to put under the mast, I used a router to set it into the mast base.
I made up a traveller for the mainsheet out of some Oak I had, I fixed it into position with thickened Epoxy and fiberglass matting.
